R’ndae Joes’ta was born R’ndae Tia, a youth of the R Tribe of Gyr Abania. He was the son of another Tia, which earned him no end of ridicule from his peers- and when he came of age he sought to gain respect by challenging his Nunh to ritual combat. Despite his tenacity he was defeated with little effort, and rather than stay and face the shame of his defeat he decided to leave his tribe behind. On his journey he met a member of the Ala Mhigan Resistance, who gave his life to save him from being captured by the Garlean Empire- and spurring him to become an adventurer through his sacrifice. He stole his way through Baelsar’s Wall with a disguise from a fallen Imperial soldier and journeyed to Gridania, training as an archer and teaching himself to read and write, before coming into contact with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn and joining their ranks.
He would go on to meet the Warrior of Light and aid them in many a fierce battle, until the time came to liberate his country from the Imperial occupation. Victory was achieved, but not without misfortune. When Shinryu - the primal captured by Garlemald - attacked, the young Miqo’te was thrown from the heights of the palace, and was feared dead- when in reality the Yol he’d tamed in Othard had carried him back to the Azim Steppe, where he recuperated from his injuries among the tribes there and returned not long after to a realm still mired in unrest. Loss steeling his resolve and his wish for lasting peace burning in his heart, he continues to keep the realm safe, even after the Warrior of Light’s unexplained disappearance.
